They do not know if I will have replacement or repair for Mitral Valve until game day; hoping for repair and minimally invasive. Last echo showed enlargement of the sinuses of Valsalva, enlargement of the ascending aorta and enlargement of the aortic root. Does this mean I have an aneurysm? I don't think it's too large as I didn't have it on last echo. I am opting for mechanical valve if need replacement and don't want a 2nd surgery. At what point are the aorta enlargement parts included or not included in a mitral repair/replacement surgery? Wondering if this should this be addressed even if not too large yet? Will the heart remodel these parts back to normal, also have few other findings like severely dilated left atrium, maybe will remodel itself too?
