About Me (In My Own Words)
5 years ago I wad diagnosed with mild Aortic Stenosis. At that time found out I had a 4.2 cm aortic aneurysm. Also informed I had a bicuspid valve.
For the past years we have monitored my progression. In October of this year after my last echo it was determined I reached severe stenosis. I was surprised.
I still have no symptoms. Now was the time to prepare for the step I wasn't prepared to go.
My back story .... my dad had heart valve surgery and a triple bypass in 1990. He didn't make it. They said the surgery was successful but the heart too weak. I had this in the back of head. Since I was told I needed the surgery I have met some great doctors. The explained everything and reassured me that I am in very good health. I am now relaxed and want this surgery so I can continue my life.
