About Me (In My Own Words)
My mom who had her mitral valve replacement processing In 1995 at Anzhen Hospital in Beijing was 40 y/o.
As I see it was an amazingly successful heart valve surgery even though with her cracking open the chest, which was a painful memory of 'death' for her.
We were told that the mechanical valve that was placed in her heart got a maximum 30 y/o lifespan.
Now 23 years passed, My mom, has been very healthy with the valve inside her heart from where I could hear its ticking every moment. I started to think about the possibility to change it a second time as now the minimally invasive technology is mature and less painful so that my mom could face it without fears and live a longer life with me and our families.
