About Me (In My Own Words)
In October during a routine physical, I was told I had a heart murmur. Followed doctors orders and got an echo. Was told I had aortic value stenosis and needed to follow up with a cardiologist. Went to cardiologist and she ordered another echo to be performed by her tech. Follow up appointment confirmed severe aortic stenosis and aortic value replacement surgery would be needed. This diagnosis came as a total shock, because I did not have any of the symptoms, except for a little shortness of breath when I went up stairs or walked up an incline. I was attributing this to being over weight. In fact I had been working out with a trainer for about 3 months to loose weight. I was going to the gym approximately 3 times a week and working out very hard. Cardiologist said I needed to follow up with an angiogram. Completed that step on December 11. No other blockages or issues, except for the valve. Now I have appointment with surgeon on January 8th. So scared waiting till then for appointment.
