About Me (In My Own Words)
I have a mechanical valve and can hear it clicking! The surgery was done after being rushed from cape cod to Boston and done within 2 days. I had the surgery and all went well. Was originally wired closed but got an infection and had to be opened again and wires were removed. Waited for infection to clear and was opened again and closed by a muscular closure. About a year and a half later the sternum split and I saw the plastic surgeon that closed me that referred me to a specialist in sternum stabilizing. He inform me that I was completely safe to live a normal life without doing new surgery so that’s what I decided, but now I am second guessing bc it feels like it’s separated more and there is an ache that has happened lately. I am healthy and healed completely outside but don’t know how to deal with the moving and feeling of pressure from the rib cage of that makes sense. Idk that’s my story and I have questions!
