About Me (In My Own Words)
Underwent surgery to replace aortic valve, root and ascending aorta in January 2022 age 50. After much deliberation, I went for a biological valve.
Some post surgery complications saw me back into hospital two more times (once for two weeks and then for a precautionary two days). A few bumps in the road, but feel like I am on the road to recovery.
I am a keen runner and not too bad for my age (3 hour marathon/18 minute 5k) and hope to get back to that sort of exercise level - and maybe better now I have a heart that is working properly!!
