About Me (In My Own Words)
I had been dealing with a-fib for at least a decade with medication but no specific cause. My primary care doctor did an EKG as part of a well check in 2011 and the result led him to believe I had pulmonary hypertension. So I had a work-up by a pulmonologist who said my lungs were fine. She sent me to a cardiologist who sent me for tests including an MRI. The MRI determined that I had probable Ebsteins. Echo said I had severe tricuspid regurgitation. I was sent to a valve surgeon and had my tricuspid valve repaired and a MAZE procedure for the a-fib. Within a year I was back to severe regurgitation that has been watched since that time. At my yearly check (1-3-2020) this year, the echo indicated severe right ventricle enlargement, so it looks like surgery to replace in the near future.
