About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve did not find out about it until I was in my 30s. I wondered it a few years and in 2020 I was told that I needed to get surgery right as the pandemic started. I met the surgeon on a TeleMed call and he pretty much just told me this is what I was getting done. I didn’t know enough I didn’t do any research you did what I was told to do. It is now 2022 and I am looking at a new surgeon at University Penn in Philadelphia on September 22, you see my first Valve was a pig’s valve and I found out about a month after surgery that the valve was too small. So I am now going to meet with a surgeon to find out if my aortic stenosis which I am symptomatic with a severe enough for them to do another open heart surgery to replace the valve that was too small. I will be getting a mechanical valve this time and that would mean having to manage my blood levels because I’ll be on blood thinners the rest of my life
