About Me (In My Own Words)
Symptoms: headaches, shortness of breathe, dizziness, high blood pressure
My symptom were not constant but sparatic. There were days, I felt good and then days I felt terrible. I finally consulted my physician and he stated "lets get your heart checked." That started my journey. He ordered an Echocardiogram. Test results were aortic valve regurgitation and aortic aneurysm (size: 5.8cm). After consulting with my cardoiologist the best course of action was surgery. Surgery is only a 7 letter word which torments you like a scary movie. I started researching my condition and types of surgeries. I learned a lot about the heart in 60 days of diagnosis. My surgery was scheduled/completed on Jan 20, 2022. Dr. Kim replaced my aortic valve with a mechanical valve and removed the aneurysm. I cant say enough about Dr. Kim and her staff. 100% professional and caring for the patient's needs. My hosptial stay was 7 days. On day 3, I started walking around my room and hosipital floor with assistance. By day 6, I had freedom to walk along. My recovery is going well and faster than I expected. One key point after surgery is pain management. I have to say, my pain has been very minimal.
