About Me (In My Own Words)
Here is my story... I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot and I had surgery at age 4 (shunt) and age 6 (full TOF repair) at Children's Hospital in Detroit. The surgery was a success and all was relatively normal for me with no new heart issues to speak of for about 35 years until I was running on a tread mill and passed out. The cause was Ventricular Tachycardia and the result was an ICD implanted a few days later. Another 6 years have passed and now my current issue is severe pulmonary regurgitation requiring pulmonary valve replacement. I am about 3 weeks out from surgery and very nervous.
