I was born with a heart murmur, but was told it was not unusual. When visiting family I was taken ill with cramps in my left side, echo-c and stress test revealed a critical aortic valve, much to my surprise. Further tests and analysis revealed a pretty useless aortic valve and 1 blocked artery. Dr Louis Kanda at Washington (DC) did surgery on June 11, 2008, inserting a bovine valve and did one bypass.
