I just wanted you to know that Mark and I have been praying for you and are so glad that you are doing well. What an undertaking for you and your family. We are looking forward to seeing your smiling face. You have always been such and encourager.God bless Mark and Kathy Canada
Perry, Glad to hear you are doing great and I look forward to seeing you in Chicago (I assume that is where you are going Wednesday. Followed your progress with interest since I had a heart attack 11/09/11. Fortunatly they patched me up with three stents and I am working thru rehab. Only 2 more weeks. David Gale
Holy Scalpel, Batman! In a back-and-forth email with Stan Sollars, he mentioned your surgery, about which I knew nothing since I'm lazy and hadn't called about my one-year checkup. Read your diary and am delighted and relieved to see you're coming back strong. My mother always called Carol and I "Modern Day Pagans" (short for "You ain't been to church lately") but I shot a short prayer skyward on your behalf just in case. Incredible what today's medical proceedures can do. Take care. Jim Culbertson
Perry, I can't tell you how thrilled I am that you are progressing so well. Your energy and periodic personal contact has been sorely missed!!! I am so glad that are slowly getting off all those meds.
Side effects can be a BITCH lol.
Since my stroke I have been on enough meds to open my own pharmacy!
I'm glad God is still in the business of wrapping his arms around us and taking good care---IF we just ask.
Thank you for keeping us so well informed.
Keeping you and Kate in my prayers.
Your friend----- Steve Loman
Too funny,I was just thinking about you this morning, then I read Neal's note below! We must all function on the same wavelength. (And I didn't know that story about the stocking and driving.) Great to hear the positive update!
Honest to God, Perry, I was just thinking about you this morning, wondering when we'd get an update. Great news on your recovery! I know first hand the freedom driving after a medical issue can bring: I had dislocated my hip playing basketball, and was in a brace from my ankle to my upper thigh, and couldn't go anywhere. Monica and Natalie left for the night for a trip to Columbus, OH, so I hobbled to a neighbor's house the next day, had them put on my anti-embolism stocking (you find out who your true friends are..) and got into my car and just drove around Fishers. It felt great!! Keep us posted!!! ---Neal.
Dr. Perry Hello there I have been praying for you every since I was advised that you were having surgery. I stopped by the office and received the card. just wanted you to know that Prayer changes things. Know that I love you and you are the BEST in the city!! much love.
Tabatha Brown (Brown).
Saw the card with your heart surgery info on it as we were leaving the office last week and wanted to say hello and hope you are feeling better soon...always good to be home from the hospital and getting stronger every day! Thinking about you and Dr. Kate!
Happy New Year!
The Paterson family
Tim, Sharon, Michelle and Mara
Gayle and I learned of your surgery in a visit to the new Clearwater location (which is terrific). Thank you for setting up this great journal. We are so pleased to hear you are on the mend. We know you can't wait to get back to that which you enjoy. Have a Happy Holidays and keep up the great recovery.
Bob & Gayle Meyer
Saw your lovely wife today, Mary Anne and I were at the business, bought some new glasses.
Good to hear you are continueing to improve, remember this was major stuff, take it easy, be patient, and we will continue to pray for God's healing. In all we do tehre is always soemthing to learn this is your turn.
Marry Christmas and May God bring healing to your body.
Hey Perry, even though I haven't responded I've been tracking your journey. Glad to hear things are getting better every day. Won't be long and you'll be ready for some high stakes poker. Merry Christmas to the Lopez family.
Perry: I'm glad things are moving in the right direction. It sounds like everything is going as planned. I'm looking forward to actually seeing you in a couple of weeks! Then I can judge for myself. Have a great Christmas.
Frequent naps are a GOOD thing! Don't complain about that!
We hope your family and you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy the miracle of the season. The fact that you live in such great times as one that can repair a heart valve is truly amazing. We are so happy for you and yours!
Another positive indicator! You keep getting stronger each day, Perry. We've been thinking about you and Kate. Natalie and I saw her and Sam delivering you a hamburger and fries on Saturday. We'll keep that bit of information from the doctor. On a personal note, I made it through 30 seconds of Dr. Gaudiani's video discussing the heart valve surgery without fainting!! My goal is 45 seconds without having to pause it! ---Neal.
What? I just found out about your surgery from Kim. I am glad to hear that you are doing well. Gosh, if I were in Indy, I would have tried to help out in any way. Maybe even do eye exams for you???!!
Seriously, Burt and I wish you a speedy recovery. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Burt and Donna
Glad to hear you have turned the corner and are doing so well.
I myself am at my 2 week post op mark today.
I am always cold, but I don't do much as far as moving (try to busy myself with little things) other than my PT and walking so I'm sure that doesn't help, and NJ has been cold!!
I could see how easy it could be to stay on the meds for pain etc., and then the difficulty breaking that. I was advised right out of the gate to closely monitor how I was feeling in a daily log and record dosages for the pain meds. I am now just taking Tylenol twice a day for "stiffness" not really pain and to just relax me. It's amazing what our bodies have been through and we have to give them time to return to some sense of normalcy.
I wish you continued progress; have fun when you start Rehab. I can't wait to start mine.
We certainly continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for keeping us all updated. This has been a nice way to hear about you without bothering you or the family. Mike Orr updated us on his visit with you, and we are so glad to hear the worst is behind you. It is going to be a happy new year!
Hello Again, Perry. It is so wonderful to hear from you and to keep up with your fantastic progress. I truly admire your perseverance with a positive attitude!! You are definitely and inspiration!
Great news on the UPs, Perry! Remember, small steps--incremental change. It's not like you're missing any great weather, so just concentrate on healing. You looked great when we all came over to help with the firewood.
