Happy birthday Mark!!! To add to the numerological significance of this auspicious week, Thursday was the 5th anniversary of my bone marrow transplant and my re-birthday. So glad we\'re here together (though 3000 miles apart) to rejoice in these things. I\'m so sorry I missed you in Santa Cruz. Hopefully I\'l see you next time. I love your posts. Have a fabulous birthday, I\'m starting my day off with a massage then a group cooking party with friends. The theme is fifty five and flaming, we\'ll make food that\'s grilled, seared, flambed, bruleed, and just firey hot. Anything not fire roasted will sport a candle.

Thanks for all the hard work you are doing amongst the many challenges - it\'s not for everyone, nor the faint of heart, but you are pulling it off like the true champion that you are. I loved reading this and getting your perspective on the world, in context with recovery. I love how you noticed the shift while on the train. I love the part about His Holiness. I watched it as possible live from here. The practice of being present where you are is the strongest pull for me, and at the same time feeling that perhaps it has been enough time away from my community in California. I also notice with a deeper understanding how much this is a transformational experience and that you are integrating and furthering so many ways of being that bring you to your presence. I\'m enjoying the jasmine and citrus blossoms, hawaiian ginger flowers, the angel\'s trumpet and all the subtle whiffs I get on my walks. Sending you Central Coast smells and the beautiful juju from all of those who love you.

so great to hear from you, and to be with you on this journey, Slippy. I\'ve been finding a lot of heart shaped rocks on the shores of the San Juan Islands and thinking of you. There must be something about the cleavage lines of the rocks around here - nearly all that I find are a bit lopsided with one side much bigger than the other. Fitting and perfect.
