Hi Laurie, Alan’s and your posts have made me feel a great connection to you, your family, and your process. I think it’s so fitting that you’re “making laps” around the unit—good practice for that beautiful lake. :) It was powerful to read that the doctor said he gave you not the surgery you wanted but the one you NEEDED. You’ve been so faithful to discern what you need and take brave steps toward it. Whatever day you get to go home, I hope for you a joyous and relief-filled reunion with the kids. Dr.Eric Sarin was my mother’s surgeon. He did an excellent job with his healthcare team on my mother when he inserted and implanted an Edwards Implanted Device through her leg into her aortic valve. Mother has a card that she must carry with her indicating the type of Edwards Implanted Device when she visits her physicians by appointments and by emergency in case. Mother was very close to her death when her aortic stenosis was very severe and 95 percent clogged. To this day, it has not ceased to amaze what God could do through the brilliant minds of medical doctors developing ideas for devices for many of us. Mother is currently doing her best at the rehab, continuing her physical and respiratory care therapy sessions. We don’t know when she can come home, depending on her physical strength. I will continue praying for you and your family.
