Hi Kevin, Linda,
Good to hear that you are getting better as each day goes by, think of this as a short stop on the way hopefully the only one. I talked to Betty the other day we had a nice conversation, she is going to start calling Kerry and Me with the information as we keep getting the wrong info and it really stresses Kerry out and I felt this way would be better I gave her the home number and his cell so now all that should stop. Good luck with your surgery next week and we will be thinking of you and you are also in our prayers. You can txt your brother any time, he likes hearing from you and getting first hand info eases his mind as you are his only brother and he loves and worries about you. Well will talk to you again soon. Kerry & Carla
Great news to hear about your transition from hospital to home! And, we're glad to hear that you rode out the earthquake fine. (Kevin did miss out on a nice ride here at the office -- it felt like we were out at sea in a not very big boat.)
We're sure you're enjoying the chance to get some fresh air. ...and we'll be listening for news about your first walk around the block!
Doreen & our family continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Kevin and Linda,
Rob's been giving me updates, but I finally caught up on your journal. Amy will be over to mow before all the rain this weekend! :) We're so glad to hear you're home and everything is progressing. Please let us know if you need anything. It might be two steps forward and one step back, but keep up the positivity. Know you're in our thoughts and prayers.
Jon and Amy
So glad to hear that things are improving and you are getting around some. You will be making laps around the entire wing before you know it. Hope the drs. let you come home soon. Take care and God Bless. Debbie P.
There isn't a day that hasn't gone by that I don't say a prayer and think about you two. I will say my prayers today that the fluid in his lungs go down and his tubes can be removed. I know personally that the breathing apparatus, although a pain, is extremely helpful and necessary to assist with the fluid in the lungs. I remember sitting with my son last summer after his surgery making him do it :).
I am not at all surprised by how good a patient Kevin is being and I know once he gets home he will start recovering even more quickly. Nothing like your own bed to help with healing.
Good morning, Linda
We all have experienced the achy/pain between the shoulder blades after surgery. To me, it was the most annoyning thing of my post-op. Please massage him as often as he will let you. Cross-fiber works best. Of course, I was able to cheat since several of my friends are massage therapist such as me.
I continue to hold Kevin & you in my thoughts and prayers.
So glad to hear about the progress of Kevin's recovery. He is heading around the corner to feeling much better after those tubes are removed. I remember how it made a big difference for Josh. Everyday will be better! Big hugs and much love coming your way. See you both when you get home. Angela
Hi Kevin,Just wanted to let you know lots of thoughts and prayers are coming your way from Gary, mom and dad. Linda 's been keeping me up to date and in turn I share the info. I'll have to let Linda borrow my nurses cap for when you go home! Sounds like things are on schedule. Hang in there, you're doing wonderful. Vicki M
Hi Kevin and Linda.
You don't know me but my husband, Mike works with Kevin. I'm a nurse and I also don't live far from you. If I can help in any way, don't hesitate to call. Also if you need a meal cooked for you while you are recuperating, let me know.
Ongoing positive thoughts and prayers for you both. I am vrey happy and relieved the surgery was successful. I hope they can get the pain and nausea under control quickly so Kevin can be more comfortable.
I am hugging both of you with sweet energy and much strength. You both have been amazing through this challenging experience. My mother always told me that, " what doesn't kill us makes us stronger." I have watched both of you become stronger through all of this, there is always something to gain as we walk through life's events with faith and trust in God. Both of you have been perfect examples of walking your faith and trust. Angela
I am glad to hear the surgery went well. You are in my thoughts. I am wishing you the smoothest recovery possible. I watched my brother recover from open heart surgery and know that you have the strength to do the same.
Linda and Kevin I am so happy that everything is progressing so well. I am praying for improvement everyday that will lead up to that triathlon event and I will be there cheering for my friend. I don't think that I will see you in the hospital because you need healing time, but I want you both to know that I am holding you in my heart and loving you both from a distance. See you when you get home. Angela
Hey bro...whats up? Awsome to hear everything went great. Hope you are getting better and stronger each day. Will be glad to hear when you are going home. I just wanted to tell you that we, Carla and I,are thinking and praying for you each and every day and take it slow and easy and get well soon. Please let us know when we can talk and write...txt...you.It would be nice to hear your voice as opposed to writing on the computer.Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Mom and dad miss you and would love to hear from you also when you are able. little bro Ker.
Kevin and Linda,
So glad to see the surgery went well. I've been thinking of you both and sending good wishes. I wish Kevin a speedy recovery so he can enjoy one (only one Linda!) slice of yummy pizza.
Several of us at work are wondering if we can send something to Kevin. I'm sure there are restrictions, and whatnot. Could you post some guidelines/recommendations about sending things to the hospital (or maybe it is better to send something to your home) ...or let us know what kind of chocolate Kevin likes!
You have been in our thoughts and prayers these last few days leading up to your surgery and yesertday all day. We are so relieved to hear that the surgery went well! ...and that your recovery is starting off on the right aortic valve, er, right foot! :-)
We're hoping everything continues to go smoothly, and that you'll be up and running again soon.
Kevin and Linda, praise God that the surgery went well and that you are on the road to recovery. Continue to keep the two of you in my prayers and you two have been lifted up in prayer by my fellow Gideon and Auxillery members. Glad Debbie could visit with Linda yesterday.
I have prayed and prayed and am so thankful for the good answer to prayer, Kevn and Linda!
Now i'ts in the past and now you can recover and be yourself or better than yourself! We will continue to pray and hopefully you will be out of the hospital soon! Love & Prayers, Miss Ellie
Kevin, Hi Glad your surgery is over and your on the road to recovery. Your Family wants you to know we are thinking of you and can't wait to hear Your voice, Your brother is waiting to talk to you, till he knows you can talk without any complications. He (They) were all worried up here. Soon you will be home recouperating and getting better. We All Send Our Love To You!!!, and can't wait to hear from you.
Kevin and Linda,
Ted and I have you in prayer. I know God has a plan in all of this ( and this is easy for me to say as it's not my husband!) I know you two are trusting God to deliver Kevin, whole and healed. The doctors are being prayed for also! Keep us updated.
Love in Christ, Theresa and Ted
Hi Linda, Just thought I would talk to you a little. Did they take Kevin into surgery yet? Not trying to bother you but you know whats going on up here with Carrol, and her forgetfulness. Will wait to read more. Prayers are with you. Carla
As I write this (from California), Kevin should be in OR and on his way to having a strong heart once again.
I will continue to lift you up in pray. Your journal writing keeps me close to you all.
BTY, I had atrial fib a lot in the couple of months before my surgery and then for 2 weeks off & on after surgery (due to the healing of the valve placement). Now, I have none. Praise God for all He does for us!!
Stay strong and know that Jesus is in surgery with Kevin and has His hand on the surgeon.
Kevin and Linda,
The two of you and your doctor and nurse team have been in our prayers (Debbie and Craig) since we knew of this operation. Especially since last night our prayers have continued and increased as the operation draws near. Even now the two of you are being lifted in prayer as I sit in my office and type this note. I know that the two of you are in Debbie's prayers as she goes about today's activities. May God wrap you in his love, grace, and comfort.
