I just got onto the site after a number of months. I looked in my guestbook and was so pleased to see your message. I am sorry I did not see if sooner, but I must have missed the email announcing it. I would have answered right away if I had known then. It sounds like you are doing really well. Running... that sounds like you are really recovered, and then some. I am so glad to hear of it. How are you doing at this point?
I am doing fine as far as my heart and surgery goes. My energy is very slow in improving, but it is slowly getting better. I retired from teaching (special education with way too much paperwork) in December 2011, and I have been getting better little by little since then. I had some other health issues to overcome, but I am confident I will get there at some point. I still keep busy, but I am not up to running. I do walk, though. (We are 16 months beyond our surgeries. Woo hoo!) It is so wonderful to be alive! I hope you are having a fantastic summer! Take care!
Good morning from Indiana 9 a.m. or good afternoon to you in London 1 p.m. I hope all is going well for you, that you have had no setbacks, and that you are just taking it easy and spending a leisurely recovery time. My recovery was slowed down by my hospitalization for the bleeding ulcer, but, other than being tired and having swollen ankles and some back pain, I think I am feeling pretty good for 19 days post surgery. It is frustrating not to be able to do everything for myself, like reaching for things on shelves, but I am getting used to it. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!! Take care and enjoy your recovery time!!!
Tia from Indiana
I am sending you many prayers, hugs, and kisses from across the pond. I hope you are doing better. Thank you o much for your encouragement. You have got to be an absolutely special young lady. Take good care!
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope your recovery is coming along nicely. Just take it easy. I hope you have someone to help you. Don't overdo so you can keep healing. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
The worst is over and now its time to focus on your recovery.I am 8 weeks post op and doing great, but the most important thing is to listen to you body and do not push yourself to hard. When you need your rest take it.All the best in the future.
Keep on tickin Alan.
I was so very glad to see your post and hear you are on the road to recovery. I hated to hear about your complications. I pray that these will lessen with time. It sounds like you have maintained your positive attitude. I pray that you continue to recover and feel better and better and stronger and stronger. I know what you mean about "Bambi legs". My surgery didn't take place until Monday the 28th due to an emergency, but all went well. Thank you so much for your post in my guestbook. I will check in often and keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope you have someone there taking great care of you. Until next time, keep feeling better!!
I hope all went well. I continue to pray for your speedy recovery. I am glad you finally got to have your surgery. I look forward to hearing from you when you are able. I go into surgery on Monday 2/28 at about noon Eastern Time, due to the postponement from Fri. a.m. due to an emergency. Take care!
Thank you for the nice note. I was told late today, after my pre-op tests and meetings, that my surgery must be postponed due to the emergency surgery of another person. I pray it goes well for that person.
I will be thinking and praying for you tomorrow. I will check your posts until I go in Monday morning. I pray for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. All my best to you, and I will keep in touch.
I wanted to tell you that my positive thoughts and prayers are with you as we both enter into surgery for such positive outcomes on Friday. I will look forward to checking in on you when I can. My husband and sister in law will post to my journal. I hope this finds you calm and ready for this surgery that will make you feel so much better. My prayers are and will be with you and your family.
Love, Tia Phillips
I'm sorry your surgery got delayed. But like you said, nothing happens without a reason. I will keep you in my prayers. With the time difference, you will be through your surgery before me. I pray that all goes well for both of us. I am confident that it will. It will be so great to feel so much better. Take care!! I will check in on you when I can. God bless you, Julie!
I too had my surgery postponed (by only 2 days though) so I do understand the wait. It was not easy but worth it. The extra time will help you out in the long run. I am sure your kids are a bit confused but hug them lots until your surgery!
I will continue watching your blog...thank you for commenting on mine!
Thank you for the words of encouragement you left in my guestbook. I really appreciate it. You are a blessing!
I know what you mean about wanting to feel better. I am wishing that for all of us and believing it will happen. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I will pray for you on Friday, especially. I am sure you will do very well and be off on the road to recovery. I am amazed at what our talented surgeons can now do to repair our hearts. Take care and try not to worry too much. I know that is easier said that done. My surgery will be in around 2-3 weeks, I think. It is so nice to have the support and prayers of our new friends on this site. Just think how many prayers that is!! I will follow your progress. All the best!!
Best wishes from the U.S. My mitral valve surgery is scheduled for April 21st. The waiting is horrible. But I am using pre-surgery and relaxation CDs to stay calm and I just ordered one for pain and another for insomnia. They are really working very well.
It must be really difficult with young children. My suggestion would be to be totally honest with them (in simple terms they can understand), answer their questions and give them lots of reassurance - but don't lie to them. I think children are a whole lot smarter than we sometimes give them credit for.
My best wishes to you for a easy surgery and a very speedy recovery.
My name is Byron Cage and I am 34. I know how you feel. Mine is on the 10th and I am worried. I to have two kids, ages 12 and 15. I am having alot of issues with my 12 year old he moved to his mothers and doesnt want anything to do with me and it hurts. That has made this surgery so much more difficult. So I know what you mean about not being sure how much to tell your kids. I wish you well and god speed with your recovery. Please keep in touch.
