Thank you, Lori, for the journaling you've done for Jim. My surgery is scheduled for July 11th and it's helped me a lot to follow Jim's progress. I was wondering....with his back/shoulder discomforter (muscles?) would getting a massage help? Or does a person (or he) not want to be touched after such a surgery? Sheila
Lori and Jim, Sounds as though things sound normal for the recovery. Lori you are doing a good job at managing his activity. Our son in law's dad had the same surgery 1 1/2 years ago and it was just like what you are going thru. His appetite did not come back for several months- so don't be surprised at that. Just keep encouraging him to eat. Just keep doing what you are all doing. I think of you often during the days. Glad you are home!
So happy to hear Jim is recovering quickly. Not an easy road but sounds as though he is pushing through the pain. It's amazing that you are doing so much so soon! Kudos to you Jim and don't forget to take care of yourself too Lori!
Updates are wonderful to read, thinking of you often.
Congratulations, text book surgery and recovery so far it looks like - this is so nice to hear. I have a question though, do you think you will have any attitude from your local cardiologist for follow up and if you need him for something related to this surgery?
Finally!! I must have checked my email
10 times today. but you are doing such a
good job Lori. I know you also had a lot of
pint size distractions today. ha And looking
after hubby I bet you was pretty busy. Tell
Jim were all rooting for him. So glad he is
doing so good. He should be able to do the
jitterbug in a few weeks. ha Well maybe if
he gets a little suds in him he might attemp it
I can't believe they are booting him out
already on day 5. He must be snoring to
loud and keeping his neighbors awake. ha
That pain medicine does funny things to you.
No really he must be doing well or they
wouldn't release him. Glad hes doing so good.
You better put lots of pillows around him in
in the motel, I know the grandkids love their
grampa. They will probably want to climb in
bed with him. I bet he is relieved to get rid
of all those tubes. Especially that Frankenstein tube.
Oh my gosh! Being released already. That is wonderful new. Be sure to take it easy and get lots of rest. I promise I won't bring the dogs to visit until you are ready! So happy for your whole family. I'm sure that this must have been so stressful. Glad everything is going well. Keep the updates going! Wendy
These journals are so good to get. I call Mom and dad ( Harold and Irene) after each one so they too know what's going on. They send their love and prayers too. That beer your Mom talked about sounds good huh?/???
Im glad to hear things are going well.
Did he get his massage today. Boy is he
going to be spoiled when he gets home.
Maybe you can all take turns with that
back rub. ha
I bet hes ready for a beer. Remember
Jim no beer while your on pain killers. So
you better hurry and recover.
Tell him I will bring him over a big pot of beans
when he gets home that will move things along.
Well Brian likes them. ha
Lori - Love the updates. You're doing a great job. Jim-- make sure Lori is there to learn how to give you those massages so you can continue to get them when you get home :) Hang in there. Sounds like you are doing wonderful for all you've been through. Today sounds like the day to keep pushing that button--make sure you do it! Love you! Your other favorite sister:)
Jim and Lori. Am glad to hear Jim is behaving himself! It is sooo-important to what you are told for a speedy recovery Sounds like things are progressing as they should. Good for all of you with such positive attitudes--that is 3/4 of the battle. Have a good day and enjoy the massage! Karen Eggers
