Hello Jenna - Liz was my caregiver. I’m just about 50 years old and had aortic valve replacement and aortic root eneurysm repair on 11/15/18. She I and I constantly talk about the wealth of information out there about the actual surgeries and general information about recovery, but there isn’t much of a dedicated source that caregivers can read that can help them be really helpful and more importantly what may be expected in terms of all of the ups and downs of recovery (which I’m still in btw at nearly 7 weeks post op). Lots of information exists by searching the site, but sometimes its just better or convenient to hear a persons experience directly recognizing that it is one of many experiences though and we all recover differently.
