Hi James. I also love riding my bike.
My last long ride was Seattle to Vancouver, Canada (home). 300 km in 2 days.
Then found out it was time for my new Valve ! 2 weeks post-op tomorrow.
my only complaint so far is terribly swelling legs. both of them. tingly and painful at times, too. was hoping it would be gone shortly. but it is persisting with you ?? I will keep reading for journal. hope we both find some answers.
I am hoping to head back into the States and cycle Seattle in Sept.

James,
You should probably go see your doctor. I have swollen feet at night, similar to what you describe, but I am getting my aortic valve replacement in 3 days. I was told by both cardiologist and surgeon that swollen ankles are symptoms of heart not working well (congestive heart failure) and moved my surgery date earlier. So you should not have this symptom AFTER your surgery. I hope mine will go away after surgery. If not, I would think I have some other issues.
Good luck.

Sure, the added time on your feet can make them swell a bit but I'd ask the doc about that.
Take care.

James. No question it is hard - you're whole body's been through the wringer. Dial it back a little. Walk some during the day. It should be a challenge but not a struggle. That said, check my journal entries on exercise and recovery. Best to you bro.
