Good luck with your upcoming surgery, I am a cyclist also. I had my surgery 4/2/18, I had a bicuspid valve stenosis I was 58 when I had the surgery. Being active helps your recovery so much. I walked a mile three days after surgery. Did a metric in July, 3 months after surgery at a comfortable pace. I got a tissue valve, and felt better after getting it done, I really noticed the difference on climbs. I wear a heart strap and watch the heart rate on my garmin. My cardio says don’t worry about it but I slow down a little when my heart rate gets to 160. Just had my first echo after my surgery 4 years ago and everything is good. I would say you’ll be back on the bike before you know it, these doctors and new procedures they use are unbelievable. And in the coming years it’s only going to get better. Good luck
Don Faust Ps I’m doing Tour de Tahoe in June a bucket list ride if you’ve never done it . Good luck
