Hi Christina, -I read your post and I am truly sorry that you are experiencing problems with your heart valves. Actually, the mitral valve, when it is leaking, also affects the tricuspid and the aortic valves. I realize it is difficult for you to travel out of state, but if you change plans, perhaps you can visit Dr. David Adams and Dr. Ahmed El-Eshmawi, world famous for such heart valve repairs. It would be best to have the valves repaired rather than replaced, sooner than later, and these doctors are experts. Both are affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
