Hi Catherine , We can listen to you and offer support from our own experiences and from all the information that adam has put up online to help people . My experience was a severely leaking mitral valve . I am also in the uk . What about ? phoning the cardiologist ‘s secretary and asking for an appointment over the phone with the cardiologist . Contacting the cardiac rehab nurse might help too . Often they liaise between the consultant and the patients. If you and your husband had a chat with your gp ? He / she might be able to offer you some support too and get the district nurses involved . Their role is to also support families and carers with long term illnesses . You need to look after yourself too .

He may try to see the cardiologist privately even though it goes againts the grain.

Hi Catherine , Has your husband seen his g p recently . His care might be through his g p if they don ‘t feel that he is well enough for cardiac procedures . Has the cardiologist discharged him or put him down to attend an out patient appointment ? Have you spoken to the cardiac rehab nurse , she might be in a better position to give advice . Could you ask your g p to refer your husband to the district nurses . They are very supportive . I know you must be very tired and worried . It will be worrying if your husband has copd and also trying to avoid viruses / covid strains . Hopefully , other people will on this lovely online community will be able to offer you support too .
Thanks for your reply. Seeing a GP is well nigh impossible now but in any case, it is not something a GP can answer. My husband had an appointment with a cardiac consultant last week, but was seen instead by a registrar who was clearly out of his depth, and couldn't answer the question.

It is a highly technical issue - what addtional risks are posed by the presence of a TAVI aortic valve replacement to doing PCI on the coronary arteries. How do these compare with the risks of doing nothing when restenosis is continually increasing.
