Amy:
I got your note on my guestbook about lifting weights. That was the one thing my cardiologist said I still shouldn\'t do. I\'m normal otherwise--meaning my heart, lungs, etc. He said it takes at least 6 months for the sternum to heal but some people take longer. For example, I\'m in my 70s and slightly diabetic, so it might take longer for mine to heal.
Is there anything you can do with lifiting less weight on your job?

Happy Birthday Amy!!!
I feel like we all here speak another language sometimes!! The \"outsiders\" don\'t necessarily understand how we feel. I am still so emotional and weepy over things (at 6 weeks post op). The good news is, I also feel like I have a lot more patience for people and situations.....
I really appreciate your candor and honesty about your feelings and concerns and how you take them on one by one.
As far as your strength and getting back to work, it seems that the physical improvement is exponential and very swift as the weeks go by. It builds on itself...You will be at your goals in no time.
Keep up the good work and be proud of all you have accomplished so far.
Warm Regards,
Nancy H.

Good Morning Amy
Great milestone. Let the tears flow. I found I was very emotional and weepy for many weeks after my OHS in March. I would tear up at the drop of a hat, not really like me. It did gradually pass but do believe it\'s our mind\'s way of catching up with what our bodies have gone through. Keep healing.

Hi Amy--
I am so happy to hear of your small, yet very powerful strides towards \"normalcy\" (for each of us that is different).
Today is 2 weeks since my procedure! It is very weird to be at this point. Overall, I feel good, but extremely emotional and reflective too. I am trying to remember to take it moment by moment and realize many things will be baby steps......it\'s a bit frustrating!
You were so lucky to have your parents there with you that whole time and it sounds like they are the \"helper\" kind which is tremendous....some people mean well, but......
I am very impressed with the way you listen to your body and how you feel and that you just haven\'t jumped in your truck when you were allowed.....some might not have that much self control.
Congratulations on where you have gotten and Happy Birthday to your son!
Peace and continued good health and strength.
Warm Regards,
Nancy H.

Rock On Amy!
Im jealous, it\'s been 6mos for me and I still can\'t drive. But I totally understand the value of reaching those arms above the head. Today tie the shoes, tomorrow reaching those arms to the sky! You\'ll get there soon! As always your in our prayers.
