Hi Martha. God be with you and beside you. I've had 2 open heart surgeries. Last was 6/2016. Was really a hard recovery, I was 66. Had major panic and stress attacks. Had to be hospitalized on several instances. I wish someone would have warned me of this as it is very common. At the 6 month post surgery the scarring finally lessened in pain. Reach out to family, friends, etc. you need social and emotional support. Don't be shocked or ashamed if you need antidepressants. You'll be fine God is with you.
