My father is 76, has congestive heart failure and has has three previous by pass surgeries. Currently he has a significant mitral valve leak that renders him almost immobile due to lack of energy. Located in SC there seems to be 0 options for him. Is there hope for Daddy?

Steve Farthing Sometimes they run a tool up the leg artery to 'clip' the mitral valve leaflets and reduce the leak. Results are often not as good as OHS, but much less intrusive. If he is not a candidate for surgery, this option is sometimes feasible. It is called the MitraClip.
