Tammy Carr Yes and was to be on war form and have my blood tested one a week but my blood went that thick that it stopped the mitrile valve all together and while having test for it found out in that short time two of my other balves Had deteriorated so bad in that amount of time they were shocked I picked the artificial valve because it lasts the rest of your life and at that time I was only 41 so if I picked a pig vow, they're only good. I'd have to have surgery again in 12 years so not to have the surgery again that's why I picked the micro artificial valve so they took the old one out and they replaced all three with pig tissue valve, but I'm still here so somebody must want me here lol
Robert Miller Is this a question? If so, what is the questions?
Richard Munson Never heard of too thick blood. Curious about cause..

Marie Myers @ Richard-I think what she means is that she didn’t have enough warfarin (Coumadin)to adequately “thin” her blood so that clots wouldn’t form on the mechanical valve.

I have just received my second open heart surgery on in 2019 that replaced my mitrile valve with an artificial valve fast forward to Aug 2024 I was life flighted to Halifax to get my mitrile valve out as it wasn’t working my blood got so thick it stopped the valve from working. I went in for a scope here in pei that took pictures of the back side of the heart everything went fine as we are driving home we get a call you need to come right back you can grab a toothbrush and a couple things but get back right away then I was air lifted to Halifax because of the issue of that valve my other two valves were bad by that time so now I have 3 pig valves in my chest but I don’t have to Be on warfarin for the rest of my live and labs done once a week and I’m only 48
Jeanette Reardon So the first open heart surgery was to replace the mitral valve with a mechanical valve in 2019?
