6 months ago I had Aortic Valve replacement surgery given that I am 43 yrs. old I decided to go with the On-X valve. Initially I was told that I would need to maintain my INR level between 2-3. A week or so ago I received a letter from the company who makes the On-X valves and they said the valve can now maintain function between 1.5 and 2.0. I just wanted to get some thoughts from others here. Anyone else at the lower level?
I would like to add that this is my first post but I really appreciate this site because it helped me navigate through some difficult times leading up to the surgery aswell as the recovery phase. Thanks to everyone who shares their stories as you don’t realize how many people read your posts.

Mike Roskowinski Hello Tadd - Yes that is correct. I was told when I left the Mayo Clinic that I would need to be 2-3 for the first few months and then I would be able to go down between 1.5-2. I am now on my 8th month post surgery and usually am around 2. My INR nurse prefers me to be closer to the 2 than then 1.5.
