sup from germany,
im 24 years old.
back in 2019 symptoms of aortic reguration started for myself (did sports while was sick), docs said nop, there is "nothing" - your wrong.
Massive Head Bobbing, and bounding pulses around my body were much obvious, also quincke sign.
Okay, now, 5 Years Later, via TEE Severe AR is diagnosed yesterday, im crying all day long, cuz the surgery soon. 7 Cardiologist didnt saw the Aortic Reguration in the past years with a normal echo. Im so destroyed and mentally done.
Heres a Google Drive Doc from myself, they ignored all the years those symptoms, how can that be possible?

Robert Miller It's always hard news when you are being told you need heart surgery. So your reactions are understandable.
So you went to 7 different cardiologists and none of them did find anything? Did any of them do an ultrasound? I am not sure what symptoms you had that you thought you have aortic reguration. Was it the pounding heart beat and "head bobbing"? Those can have many different sources. And what was the sickness you had when you did sport? If it's just the regular flue, etc then doing sports during that time isn't going to cause a leakage of your valve.
In any case, the past is the past, unless your goal is to file a lawsuit. Still, you have to make the best of the current situation. There is only going forward. If I were in your shoes, I probably would get another opinion of the TEE you got. Just to make sure it's not a false alarm. It probably isn't in which case you have to plan for the next stages of which there are many. Choosing the right surgeon, preparing for the surgery, if a repair is not possible, decide on a mechanical valve or biological valve (at your age it's most likely a mechanical valve), invasive or non-invasive surgery, recovery, etc. But take one step at a time.
