I haven't written in while but I have been busy. After my last journal entry I continued to have shortness of breath, nausea, loss of energy, weight gain. After many tests it turns out that my cardiologist was partially correct. I have 2 areas of leakage... one in the valve and one where the valve meets the heart. I have "severe" regurgitation. This is a progressing thing that must be re-operated. The surgery is schduled for Dec 2. While I am concerned I can tell you The Mayo Clinic is wonderful. DR Landolfo will do the surgery.

I am now living in the sunny south. Three months ago we left Ohio... timed it perfectly. The winter of 2009-2010 will be remembered for a long time. Several weeks ago I made contact with The Mayo Clinic/Hospital in Jacksonville and am now a patient there. It seems to be a great facility. I have new Doctors... cardiology is Dr Yameni and my internist is Dr Brinker. My first visit with Dr Yameni proved interesting. He is concerned that I may have a "leaky aortic valve" so I have been in tests for the past 2 days. I will write more as I know the results.
