I am learning so much from this site and so thankful to have found Adam and reading his book. It is very helpful to read about everyone's stories. My cardiologist says that it might be several months to a year before I will have surgery for replacing my aortic valve. Sometimes I cannot sleep thinking about it and other days I am just fine and know that there is so much success with OHS and taking care of myself is a priority. My husband is my greatest support.
I wish all of you a wonderful Christmas!

Knowing you need surgery is hard! I felt the same way as you having good and bad days. I have known for several years that my valve was in moderate to severe stenosis, but my symptoms were minimal. This fall they pushed for surgery and I had it on 12/1. The deciding factor for them this time was my velocity ratings and also my symptoms started to increase (specifically I started to feel dizzy periodically when not exerting myself and feeling out of breath when walking up stairs or walking fast). This website has been so amazing to me. It is so helpful and it normalizes this whole experience. Take care of yourself! Best wishes!
