Change in plans since my last journal. My husband had a successful AVR and MVR at NYC Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Craig Smith performed the surgery on July 24, 2013. My husband has been home since July 30th and he is doing remarkably well. It has been quiet a journey for him as well as our family. To the founder,of this community, Adam Pick, thank you. By reading these open journals daily, it gave me hope and encouragement to get through this difficult time.
I will post again after my husbands six-week visit with Dr. Smith and cardiologist. Thanks be to God for never leaving our side.
That is my husband surgery date at CCC with the infamous Marc Gillinov.
My husband has suffered with a chronic cough for 20 years and was diagnosed with valve disease about 18 years age.
Has anyone else had "cardiac cough"? Maybe someone had the cough mysteriously go away after surgery. Let us know.
Tom just recently retired as an Elementary Education teacher of 36 years.
Praying for each one of you,
Shelly and Tom
