I have had this murmur since I was 40 (it was I guess a sort of birthday present). I am now 70 and still asymptomatic. I take only 1 med for high BP and an aspirin. I see the Doc. every year and have an Echo. Eventually I will need to get this fixed, but he (the doctor) told me do what I want to do as far as exercise, keep my current diet (mostly lean meat and veggies---we have a huge garden) and don't let myself get run down.
When the time comes for surgery, I still haven't decided where to go. We shall see.
