It has now been almost 2 months since surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital by Dr David Adams. I am now able to lift my arms over my head, and no longer sleep on my back. I can also walk a half a block. But still out of breathe. My neck is hurting quite a bit and lifting is difficult. Yet through all I thank god for the team that performed the surgery. I have not been driving as I drive a 5 speed and need all my limbs to do so.
Through all this I still say thanks, I sometimes get a little depressed but I am well
Arrived back in Canarsie around 8:30 PM..... My number three brother, his daughter, and my Eldest Nephew Deryck where at the hospital to check the orders be sure I understood and was ready to comply. It was great to have such bold entourages.
Dr Chen continued to encourage me reinstating how wonderful I looked and how great the medical recovery was happening. I did not feel that great . An unfortunate experience of my denture being accidentally thrown away.
The evening before surgery, I decided to take a nice bubble bath. My IPhone fell in the tub. Just brought a new case for it hope it's not to damaged .
My nephew came to get my car to keep in his garage off the street. they tow so quickly here in Brooklyn. Went to Dentist this morning for clearance, went quickly.
Hospital called to be there at 9:30 Not sure what time surgery Selma has to be there at 5:30, Guess she will go first. Washing a few pieces to take along trying to decide if I need the laptop or will the phone be enough.
7 more days before surgery. Have to get Dental Clearance... trying to get appointment now . Doctor has no openings this week believing for favor. Got appointment Wednesday 2 PM. I will pack my bag today ,much running around this week. Fighting off depression.
it is 4:44 am I have to go and pick up my body guards (2 friends) to get to the lab for Cath the traffic on Flat-bush ave is kinda rough I do hope it flows better then it was Wednesday . don't want to be late. Pray my success.
Met with Dr Adams yesterday it was a very enlightening and encouraging meeting. I was almost a hour late which was quite a overwhelming experience to me the frustration was great do to the traffic coming from Brooklyn two of my friends came along as prayer and body guards I was kinda testy during the drive which I apologized for. My brother who loves to text was texting me as i drove, I drive a standard shift car requiring the use of all your limbs so i was a little exasperated that he was texting.
The staff was courteous and warm upon my arrival. The Welcome was relieving. Their was a minimal about of paper work which was relieving as i am weary of paper after three months of consultations and test. We waited a short time before seeing the NP to take my Health History. One of my friends came in the room with me to hear the process while the other remained available to watch the meter for the car. The NP was through she was glad that I had forwarded a clear history of mu ailment which are many. Soon after I was ushered into Dr. Adams office.
Tomorrow I will have a consultation with Dr. David Adams of the Mt Sinai Hospital here in NYC, I am confident that he is the best choice of surgeon .... I hope that he willing to take my case and that I am able to have a great recovery Keep me in your prayers
Just made appointment to see Doctor Adams, lots more information to gather up. Will consult with him on May 2,2012. He is in my network. this will be the third surgeon Pray he is the one. Thanks all of you for your support truly appreciated
i have just completed my last day of work in the NYC Public school System. I am now in the process o f choosing a surgeon to repair/ replace my Mitral valve... It has been a intense experience. I have consulted two surgeons one in Columbia Presbyterian Weill and the other St Francis Roslyn NY. The Surgeon at St Francis initially observed % leakage... He recommended that a TEE be done. This proved to be less encouraging where by the test showed a greater issue scale fro 1-5 my result was 4 plus . In my searching the data base I did find either surgeon that I am considering. Hmm I wonder why they are not listed both are in prestigious hospitals.
