Hello everyone! What a great forum!
I’m 11 weeks post op for mitral valve repair. I had 1 episode of AFIB in hospital and 1 (known) episode at week 5. After 2nd episode, doctor switched baby aspirin to 10mg Eliquis daily. Starting 5 days later I seem to be having some lightheadedness/vision issues. I had none before taking Eliquis. Could be coincidence. Just wondering if anyone else had something similar happen to them. Thanks, in advance!

Jared Takeshita I had a 2nd degree AV block on day 3, a 1st degree AV block on day 4, and an episode of AFib on day 11. Other than that I’ve been normal sinus. I’ve been on 81mg aspirin daily. I’ve been having vision/head issues lately as well. Cardiologist seems to think that my lightheadedness (when standing up and walking after sitting) and possibly my vision/headache issues are due to the changes in my BP. I’m going to see an eye doctor today to see how much my prescription has changed and see if there’s any issues with my eyes.

Karen Boich Hi Jared! My vision issues were attributed to most likely low BP...I was running around 90/60... I went off Metropolol 4 weeks ago and now my BP is around 105/75 and vision issues are less. Now more lightheaded. It’s like a guessing game - trying to get meds right! Hoping you get some answers about your vision but you are still pretty early in recovery. Your heart is still trying to get to new normal from what I’ve been told.
