Hi, I joined today. My name is Jason. I had an OHS just about a month ago for my aortic valve. Dr. Paul Stelzer performed the Ross procedure. Everything is going so well, I thought man, I am lucky. I walk 4 miles a day, 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Maintaining the diet and following text book. BP has been going well. Suddenly, yesterday evening when taking shower, I noticed that my left leg (from knee to angle, just the front part) is tingling. I checked my BP, the numbers are going high. I am little scared. I just take ibuprofen at night and tylenol after that. Ofcourse Metroprorol, asprin and iron tablet. So, what gives the tingling sensation? Its only when I touch, I find that tingling, else both legs feels normal. Can anyone experienced this. I had sent email to my Doc as well. My leg is not numb though. Just little tingling to touch.

Bill Cherry Jason, My one remaining side effect of aortic valve replacement, now about 7 months ago, is a numbness in my upper left leg. The leg works OK, it is just a little numb. My only theory is some nerve damage when the chest (sternum) is spread during surgery.
