Has anyone had aortic valve surgery at Stanford? I’m seeing a cardiac surgeon there this week. I started this journey three years ago with afib. At that time all kinds of tests were done showing slight leaks in the mitral and aortic valves. And a 3.9 aneurysm. (Thorastic assending) So I was checked once a year with a ct and echo and a two week zio patch. It’s all been stable until a couple of months ago. I wasn’t due for a repeat until may. But I’ve become so breathless my local cardio had an echo done, now my aortic valve is severe. Does anyone know why that happened so fast? All this causes so much anxiety . Very little sleep. Any experiences at Stanford for this would be appreciated.

J Alexander Lassally I was a mitral patient so cannot comment. I consulted with Stanford and found their staff super helpful. There was a lot of "attitude" though, from the surgeon, and I personally moved onward in my search. So you need to judge your instincts. That said, patients have generally done really well there in my observation. They have great outcome data. Get multiple consults so you get a range of personality, approach and way. Good luck.
