Suddenly today Ron tells me he is having shortness of breath. Perhaps doing too much? Anyone else experience this? His B/P has been on the low side so the cardiologist said he could have some salt. He might have over done it because he had a 5lb wt gain. He\'s now down another 3 lbs. but his feet and legs are not as swollen. We just went for a walk and couldn\'t complete it because he appeared to be laboring. Any suggestions? This is all so very stressful. Everyday it\'s something else and yet people on this site seem to be doing so well. Thanks.

One week and a day after surgery, my husband is home with lots of medicines. It\'s overwhelming. He seems to be getting stronger with each day but does sleep a great deal which I think is fine. He still goes in and out of a-fib and therefore he is on amiodarone for the a-fib and coumadin to keep his blood thin. Hopefully the a-fib will go away once his heart heals. Each day is one more day towards full recovery.

My husband Ron had his aortic valve replaced on 9/14 at U of Penna. Hospital in Phila. Operation went well. it was minimally invasive and he received a biological valve and since I heard him snorting while asleep in his hospital room I surmise he received a pig\'s valve.
He was out of ICU within a day but since then he has been in and out of a-fib and his blood pressure has plummeted. He says he feels fine and that he cannot tell that his heart is racing. I must add that without Adam\'s book we would have been lost!!!! Thank you soooo much.
