I have done very well after surgery. The first several months were an adjustment for my heart and my mind.
I recently experienced something I would like to bounce off of everyone. I have a therapeutic range of 2.5 - 3.5 INR for my warfarin. I take 20-25mg Lisinopril and 90 mg Antara (fenofibrate) for high cholesteral and triglycerides.
I had been over my INR range to 4.1 and took less warfaring and it lowered to around 3.4. I guess I strained a muscle in my back which resulted in me internally bleeding about 3 units of blood. Not Fun and not pretty -- large ugly bruising. I had a CT scan taken and nothing other than blood showed up. I was told it was probably a small vein or artery that broke.
My question is: Has anyone experienced anything like this when they were taking Antara? I know that this is a possible problem with all fenofibrates. Also, is there something else I can take that would have less risk?
Thanks for your help,
Dan
