About Me (In My Own Words)
In April 2019 I was diagnosed with Mitral Regurgitation and received an Mitral valve replacement. Given only two options a pig mitral valve or a mechanical mitral valve replacement, I chose the latter mechanical valve. Did not have the option of mitral tear repair of valve. So, currently taking blood thinners to ensure optimal operation of mechanical valve. If I was given the choice to repair my torn mitral valve option I would have selected the repair. The blood thiner Wafarin can be a health hazard due to bleeding. I have experienced nose bleeds and blood in my urine infections. As of today the bleeding has stopped with blood pressure monitoring and sinus medication to control polyps inflammation.
