About Me (In My Own Words)
I found out at age 65, I was born with a bicuspid heart valve. As a result I had developed aortic stenosis and an ascending aneurysm. Within 6 months I had open heart surgery to replace my valve and repair the aneurysm using the Modified Bentall Procedure. I now have a Inspiria Resilia Aortic Valve SZ25 by Edward's Lifesciences. Unfortunately, my electrical system was compromised during surgery which resulted in a third degree heart block. Five days later I had another surgery to implant a Medtronic pacemaker, which works 100% of the time to keep me alive.
