About Me (In My Own Words)
I found out 3 years ago that I had a mitral valve regurgitation, it was in the mild stage and was told I had probably had it from birth and I had to have 6 monthly check ups. It went from mild to mild/moderate within a year but then it stayed like that, but I was reffered to Mr Briffa (my surgeon) as a precaution (just incase). Then In July last year I had to be admitted into hospital with sepsis and had to have an echo to check on my heart, I found out that it had gone to severe so i was put on the list for surgery, which I had on the 10th of September, I've made steady progress since my OHS and have just returned to work, my job is heavy so took a little longer to get back..I saw my surgeon 8 weeks after my op and everything was fine, and I have an appointment in May this year with the valve clinic to check if every things still ok...so watch this space :-)
