About Me (In My Own Words)
Hi! 11 years ago I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve and aortic aneurysm. Due to stenosis of the valve down to .7cm and growth of the aneurysm to 5.8 cm, I had the big surgery one month ago. Post op complications were handled well by my surgical team but I'm left with one complication that I would appreciate feedback on: left vocal cord paralysis.
I have had the filler injections which allow me to eat, drink and speak but I have had two very different prognosis. One, from the ENT which did the injections who said that the paralysis is permanent and the second from the surgical team which said that the "stretched" cord will recover over time.
I record audio books so your experiences will help me plan for my future.
Thank you!
Tim
