About Me (In My Own Words)
Diagnosed with Mitral Regurgitation a few years ago and I am scheduled for surgery March 27th. Everything else is fine although I could stand to lose 30 pounds.
It is scary that the surgery (even if open heart) doesn't worry me as much as how I will cope with the recovery afterwords. Things like how to sleep, how to get out of bed, the simple chores of life seem to elude me. I know they will explain this to my family and others to help in the weeks to come.
I have been walking the last couple of weeks but know that I need to be in better shape. I will try to log in and keep the journal current for a while as I hope that my experience in coping after surgery might help others.
The children in the picture are my grandchildren, my age is 56.
