I Was diagnosed 2.5 years ago With Aortic Stenosis, and bi-cusps. It went from moderate to severe in that 2.5 years. Only option was to have it replaced. After consulting with my surgeon and doing my own research we decided to go with a pig valve replacement.
I am currently still in ICU going on seven days. I had a complication where my lung was punctured and got an air pocket, so we are trying to get my body to re-absorb the issue rather than put in another drain. Other than that everyone has been attentive and kind.
One recommendation I would have is to have your surgery earlier in the week so you’re not staying over the weekend. Physical therapy does not work on weekends and it is important to be up and moving. More updates to follow!
