About Me (In My Own Words)
I am a 56 year old mother of 3 and grandmother of 8. These cherished ones + my husband of over 31 years are 12 excellent reasons to have my valve replacement surgery! I report to the hospital at 5:15 tomorrow morning, Dec. 3, 2012, my husband's 60th birthday. He says this is a great birthday present. (We'll see if he's still saying that 4 weeks into recovery!) Faith in God, prayer support of many friends and family has prepared me for the surgery. I am ready to get this done. My only concern is the hospital stay and my diabetes. I am insulin dependent and have been on an insulin pump for the past 10 years. ...don't quite know how that's going towork with this stay.
