About Me (In My Own Words)
I've had two open heart surgeries. In 1996 when I was 23 years old I had the Ross Procedure. On November 28, 2022 I had a second surgery to replace both my aortic and pulmonic valves with pig valves, essentially a "Ross redo". In addition I had my aortic root replaced with a graft as mine was dilated to approximately 6 cm. I'm now 50 years and super healthy. I take a low dose beta blocker to help keep the beats and pressure down to maximize the life of my pig valves. Long term we are planning for TAVR and hoping to avoid another invasive surgery. All in all I'm incredibly blessed and happy to be alive.
