About Me
Following several failed angioplasties I received a quintuple bypass in 1995. Since then I had a mild heart (1997) attack after which two stents were placed. In the past couple of months a blockage of 80% was discovered in my main artery. I had an angioplasty, but the stent could not be placed because of difficulty reaching the damaged artery with the stent. I have always had a slight murmur which I was repeatedly told not to worry about. That murmur has now developed into a moderate to severe problem with my aortic valve. My cardiologist has suggested getting another opinion from Cleveland Clinic so that I can find out what options are available to me.
My son had his aortic valve repaired at the Clinic a month ago. I was very impressed and agreed to go to Cleveland Clinic for their opinion as soon as possible. Tomorrow my wife and i leave Chicago for Cleveland to get their opinion.
Although I am very nervous and not just a little anxious about the immediate future, I have high hopes that I can be fixed and my prognosis will be improved.
