A couple of years ago I was told I had a heart murmur. Not much was said about it. Then I got pneumonia and moved closer to my daughter where there was a better health care system. When I had my hip replaced in 2024 my ortho surgeon sent me to a cardiologist for the first time. It was then I discovered heart murmur =aortic stenosis. Had an Echo done and the Dr told me to call if I felt any different but really didn't explain much. Had my followup in Sept another Echo was done not much change still moderate aortic stenosis. 6 weeks later I could hardly catch my breath. I call the heart and lung center my pulmonologist responded and sent me for another Echo as my cardiologist was out.
This time results revealed severe aortic stenosis with mitral regurgatation. Cardio call me in for and urgent appointment. This was 2 days before Thanksgiving. Fast tracked me for an angiogram and tavr ct. And got me in to see the surgeons right away. My veins and valves are small so I will be having open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and possible root repair with Mitral repair or replace.
