About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed in July of 2021. I was quite surprised they discovered this, as I have always been active and have pretty much always felt well with generally only rare and mild illnesses.
But at the time of my diagnosis I knew that my health had slipped a bit. After decades of raising ten children I realized I might need to invest a bit more time and energy focus on losing weight and improving my overall fitness and health, with the aim of being as healthy as I possibly can be, minimize the progression of my condition, and be in the very best shape I can be when it comes time to undergo the procedure; which probably will not be needed for years the way things have looked over the last couple years, according to my docs.
Over the ensuing 12 months I lost 150 lbs through improved diet and weight and cardio training 6 days per week. My docs like my BMI a lot now, and they have taken me off all blood pressure meds. I feel absolutely amazing, but there are always ways to improve.
My general approach is to always be learning as much as I can, and to find and implement ways to be better every single day. This is why I am so glad to have found this group. I am excited to learn from you great folks what your health improvement strategies are, and tips for preparing for the procedure in the time leading up to it.
It is a privilege to be here!
