About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed on the 6th with left atrial myxoma (tumor). My only symptoms were mild abdominal pain and swelling with a history of bilateral swelling in my legs for several years. Thus far, I have undergone an echocardiogram, a transesophageal echocardiogram and a heart catheterization. The TEE confirmed the location and size of the myxoma and the heart catheterization was great in that I had no blockages. I will know more tomorrow after meeting with the surgeon. I am very fortunate to have a neighbor, Chris Purvis, who has had valve replacement procedure recently. Chris has been very helpful and is a great friend and asset in this journey.
